Calmer water, minimal Sargassum, ultra-luxury resorts. Punta Espada Golf Course, Portsblue Marina. Best water quality on the island. Premium pricing but worth it.
Most resort options, best value pricing, highest energy. Barceló, Iberostar, Hard Rock are here. More Sargassum risk in summer months. Best for groups and families wanting variety.
Most remote stretch. Fewer crowds, cleaner beach, but limited resort options and further from Punta Cana airport. Best for couples seeking quiet over convenience.
Sargassum seaweed washes up on Punta Cana beaches April–October, primarily in the central and southern Bavaro strip. Cap Cana and Uvero Alto experience significantly less. We check current seaweed reports before every booking — something no OTA does. Always ask your agent before you commit to a central Bavaro resort in summer.
Saona Island is the Dominican Republic's most popular day trip — 2 hours by catamaran, natural pools, pink sand, zero development. Hard Rock Punta Cana is excellent for families (waterpark, extensive kids' club) but the casino atmosphere means it's also packed with adult groups.
